Whilst making enquiries in respect of works required at Breoch Burn of the coastal path (quote was requested) the following was highlighted to me by the company providing the quote.
“As discussed, we had previously cleared the slipway in the village whilst carrying out other works for Lochryan Estate. We got great praise and thanks from the Coastguard and Stranraer RNLI as it allowed them to launch their lifeboat from there. Unfortunately, after the spring tides, a bank of gravel has been deposited there again. It may well be prudent to see if funding could be obtained to clear this twice a year which would then make the slip way useable for launching small crafts as well as the lifeboat.”
I have been asked to bring this to the attention of the Community Council for their consideration. Could this be added to the CC agenda please ?

Re: Slipway at picnic area
This was discussed at the most recent Community Council Meeting. The minutes of the meeting can provide an update on this question.
Though not totally discounted, it does have some issues in relation to it and as it is not on the Community Action Plan, it is not at this present time to be pursued.
