Please be warned that storm Éowyn has been upgraded to a RED WARNING for wind in Western Scotland including the whole Rhins area. Winds could reach 80-90mph, which could bring trees down and lead to power cuts.
Please only travel if necessary, and follow the safety tips in the link below. Ensure that you are prepared for possible power cuts by keeping mobile phones and power banks fully charged. Keep torches and candles to hand in case power cuts continue after dark. Do any food shopping necessary today to avoid having to go out tomorrow. Try to park away from trees, in case any trees come down.
The weather warnings will continue, but will decrease to amber then yellow over the weekend and into next week. Be prepared these warnings can change at short notice.
Please keep an eye out for vulnerable neighbours. The CCC will keep you informed as it hears more information.
